Can you do a walkthrough of your turns on gigantic maps?  Or is it a trade secret

I just started up playing again, but I was playing TA for my first few games before I realized the points were probably better in DA due to how the techs worked.  So I switched back, and I got an immediate 5k increase in score despite playing horribly.  I read most of the old thread, and I'm curious how you fund your empire.   I had serious problems keeping afloat with DA (so much so that the last month and a half I wasnt researching anything).  I somehow managed to run out of $$$ much faster than I did in TA.

I noticed you used Oxor as your homestar, which makes sense so you can get a jump in research score on turn one.  The problem with this is, if both your home and secondary planet have a 700% node, you burn through the cash like crazy.  I had to abanon my first game with this setup because I was broke by february, using the cheapest leases.  Im wondering how you keep spending up.  I had economic troubles in TA too, but not as bad.  The biggest problem from moving from tiny to gigantic is that you lose out on trading with the minors and anomolies... I just cant find the cash to keep my research going to get the score up.

My setup was:

Altarian, +2 speed (8 pts), +10% research (2 pts), Homestar Oxor (or Thalis)

Galaxy settings: Abundant anom, 8 minor civs, rare everything, tight cluster

so far good setup but these 8pts on speed are, well, probably a necessity to you now (as in DL, I remember) but you might find a way to work around it....

As for your economic problems, well, that's an unsolveable luck factor: With many PreCursorLabs you'll need an early (or two) cash anomaly or the february debt will destroy the score.

Great to see that people are still playing this game and using the metaverse. I intend to play a metaverse game soon after I've getting my skills back after a long time not playing this game.

Immense congrats to Maiden666 for scoring 385,350!!  Completely shattered the old record!! 

I never thought I would see a ZYW score nearly that high.  Maiden has proven to be one of the best players in the game.
