It turns out that there is an artificial scoring limit of 3.5 million in the game. Actually I think it's dependent on the game type and the victory type multiplier. So 3.5 million is the military victory limit. Other victory types should have even lower limits but I forget the precise victory type multipliers and I'm too lazy to look them up at the moment.

This is something of a bummer since Sole Soul's methodology is probably capable of somewhere in the vicinity of 6 million points for a military victory. In fact we believe it's possible to achieve the 3.5 million limit in a ZYW so that's pretty much the goal at this point.

That is absolutely mind blowing.  I haven't played GalCiv2 in a while, but I'm dying to know how you/SoleSoul did/came up with that .  

SS mentioned that he would like to make everything public at some point. I believe there may be one or two aspects of it that KP would have to agree to release as well but I think SS and KP had at least discussed the potential of doing that. The last I discussed this with SS he was of the mind to tell folks how its done after doing his game but the artificial limit may in fact have discouraged SS sufficiently that he may have moved on, the strategy is capable of somewhere near 6 million but its essentially limited to no greater than can be achieved in a ZYW. He was kind of bummed out about the limit and I haven't heard from him in over a month now.

Basically I'd be happy to describe the methodology but I would need the OK from both SS and KP to do so. I haven't seen KP around in quite some time either so I'm at a loss as to what I can say ...

I would like to have a look at that methodology too please, but I can wait until you get the ok from both SS and KP. May I ask about how long it took to play such a game?

About 2 months maybe a little longer, which is about what a gigantic all abundant has usually been, for me at least.

I used to be able to play a game out for 2 months or more too, but I've lost the patience.  It's good to see that you were able to keep yours.

Yeah I know what you mean. I've started another game but I need to beat myself to get back to it. It would be easier if there wasn't an artificial 3.5 mil limit on the score which makes the only real goal a 3.5M ZYW, *if* I can beat myself to finish it.

Hmm ... Why was my 1,218,000 ZYW listed as not MV legal because it most certainly was legal in every sense of the word.

Also not sure why my 3054800 ZYW posted in reply #195 of this thread is not listed at all.

Maybe KP gave up.

 

Multiple MCCs definitely not MV legal.

But like was said before, almost nobody is using the MV anymore, so cheat and exploit to your heart's content.
