Just testing

You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy!

It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be.

In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for 100s more octals of days since that auspicious day.  We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 32 million more light years than the second most powerful empire.  The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 45% of the galaxy.  Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest.  We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...

We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for over 3 years running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy!

The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.

"Kzinti flesh has a very strong and pungent taste. The weak among us are devoured by their litter-mates within a few moons of birthing. Only the swiftest and most ferocious of us survive to their first naming-day. Those not fit to survive will never live to perpetuate their inferior bloodlines. This is the natural law of the galaxy." - Kzinti Warrior

"The meaning of life is the hot blood of your prey on your tongue, the meat that rends beneath your teeth, the corpse of your enemy left in the sun for the carrion eaters to finish, your defeated foe groveling in submission before you. That is what life is. We are the Kzinti, and we stronger, swifter, wiser, and more ferocious than any other race ever was or will be." - Kzinti philosopher

If your claws can grasp it, then it is rightfully yours. - Kzinti proverb

A salute to all those heroic t'kzintar who have made this empire a resounding success. Our conquests continue and the galaxy will never know peace!

Thanks, i am glad to hear that. My next game will be a gigantic map too,a bit less planets, difficulty a bit harder, painful or crippling, i dont remember which exactly. I like to try different play styles, so i decided diplomatic development with the Terrans, but actually the game looks very good i kept the other civs at war with each other and already pushed my technology far beyond theirs. I think its just a question of time until i can post a new score (hopefully as good as the forst one).

Keep in mind that if you go for a victory condition other than military your score will be significantly lower. The multiplier for each victory are as follows:

Tech 1.0
Alliance 1.5
Culture 1.75
Military 2.5

Just so you dont get surprised by a lower score.

Of course i go for conquest victory, i just keep them off me by diplomacy

Amen diplomacy is for deception of the weak. The resort of those not strong enough to take what they desire.

Nice score on your second game di55sec7ion.     I use diplomacy in that way too, mainly by keeping all the AIs at war with at least one other AI. I especially try to make them declare war on each other when they have a special treaty with each other. This makes them take a big reputation hit and prevents any alliances from eventually forming. Otherwise, diplomacy is for grass-eaters!

We have a bunch of new members that have joined over the last few days, many of them formerly of the HCH. A great welcome to Shaman, Liborio, Admobadmo, Emperor_Crush, Nicole, and Bosk!

Yeah, that is aggravating with it going to the first page every time. The first time I heard that phrase was from one of my friends about 15 years ago. I don't know if he made it up or heard it somewhere himself.

One thing I'd like to ask, how do the Kzinti gain recruits at the rate that they do?
on Feb 22, 2008
We threaten them with being eaten and they usually capitulate.  If they dont then it's dinner-time!

Not far from the truth.    I can't speak for everyone, but I joined because of the atmosphere and story line.

Also, Kzinti Patriarch has some charisma that I can't put my finger on. Maybe he should run for office.

Firebender, hmmm....that sounds sort of spicy and unusual. You dont want to get eaten do you?

Thanks for the compliments about the empire Motti. I'll have another bit of story sometime soon.

You're probably joking about politics, but it is something I've actually thought about, and rejected. I write political/social commentary as a hobby, but actually being a politician is such a slimy smarmy job, plus I hate being in the spotlight. In a political role I'd prefer to be behind the scenes devising policy.

If you don`t make it into politics you at least can tell your prospective employer that you have enormous leadership abilities - you once were a great Patriarch of a huge interstellar Empire called "Kzinti Empire". That does extremely well on a job application i think

Hehe, only if they are looking to hire insane people. I can imagine how that would go over!

hey KP, are you saying that I'm a smarmy, slimy person for doing politics?
