You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy!

It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be.

In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for 100s more octals of days since that auspicious day.  We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 32 million more light years than the second most powerful empire.  The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 45% of the galaxy.  Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest.  We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...

We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for over 3 years running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy!

The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.

"Kzinti flesh has a very strong and pungent taste. The weak among us are devoured by their litter-mates within a few moons of birthing. Only the swiftest and most ferocious of us survive to their first naming-day. Those not fit to survive will never live to perpetuate their inferior bloodlines. This is the natural law of the galaxy." - Kzinti Warrior

"The meaning of life is the hot blood of your prey on your tongue, the meat that rends beneath your teeth, the corpse of your enemy left in the sun for the carrion eaters to finish, your defeated foe groveling in submission before you. That is what life is. We are the Kzinti, and we stronger, swifter, wiser, and more ferocious than any other race ever was or will be." - Kzinti philosopher

If your claws can grasp it, then it is rightfully yours. - Kzinti proverb

A salute to all those heroic t'kzintar who have made this empire a resounding success. Our conquests continue and the galaxy will never know peace!

Cannibalism. Kzins taste of chicken and clouds, or butter and dreams. Either way.. .. .I need to do more Metaverse. I have a game going, but it is taking longer than expected due to a massive all > vs me for unknown reasons. I only held about 40% of the galaxy then, "Your war machine must be stopped!" , so.. fun times.

Edit : meow.

I find that if you keep the enemy civs at war with multiple opponents, they are almost always too busy to declare war on you. Keep inciting wars among your opponents, and even better, make sure they are far across the galaxy from each other. That way they'll keep spending on their war machine, but achieve very little. If I do get that message from a civ, its often from the Terrans, who say "The was once a nation-state called Germany....", etc, etc.

Hey Motti, I see you passed me up in the rankings once again! This is a very temporary injustice though, which will be rectified later today.

Yeah, he passed me up too. Luckily for you, O Leader of the Kzinti, that that character is not a Kzin. I may be wrathful deity but I'm not against a good competition either.

ps: nice job on the shiny new bronze medals; I'm a lil jealous

Well, I just went for broke and won, luckily. Turned all my stuff over to military pumped out about 30 transports and 15 medium hull sized ships divided them up and prayed to god I got good rolls on the planets. So it all turned out well. ~Also~ Why is my "custom" race medal not showing up with the rest of my medals?

the favorite race medal will only appear if you have played a DL game, or in case all you play is DL games, only where one race has the majority of games played.

Thank you, Silver.

Well done Mulfia. You're gaining victories at a nice pace!

Thanks for the info Fights-With-Words, you are a veritable font of GalCiv knowledge.

Motti, I've leapt ahead of you again...tag you're it!

lots of reading and playing...

as for a reply to your message...

"For too long a growing menace has plagued our universe, ravaged our worlds, and destroyed our cities. This menace is unyielding and relentless in its quest for dominance. Only a simple option has been left to those in its wake: to submit to its power or to be utterly vanquished. It is because of this that I give this rallying call to all that may hear it, the Kzinti Empire is a menace to the galactic order and peace of free peoples of all walks of life and must be stopped at all costs. I may be only one soldier, but let others join me in quest to topple this regime before all is truly lost.

Fights-With-Words speaks truly....his Delphi Oracle must have prophecised that it is our destiny to subjugate the entire galaxy. The Fanged God will devour the essence of your gods and absorb what power they have, just like all other gods before have been destroyed and consumed. It is good to see our rival has gained the courage to oppose us. It will make the hunt much more interesting.

It may be time for a new name for Fights-With-Words, so we will now call you Honorable-Doomed-Enemy. Enough talk...we have a galaxy to conquer!

Sadly, I won't be responding to the challenge right away, since I'm playing my current game in the Kzinti Empire.

DA seems significantly different from DL and I'm learning quite a bit in this first game. I'm also having to alter my strategy now that I'm attempting a gigantic galaxy. It might take some time.

Excellent news on both fronts then!

When I first played DA, I found the extreme planets aggravating, because there would be all these planets I wanted, but couldnt take for a while. Now though, I often let the enemy civs colonize them, and they make nice targets for early invasions. Or if I dont go to war with that specific civ early on, the planets within my sphere will flip over to me. I do like that it breaks up the colony rush into different periods.

Come on folks, try to punch in some games. I just joined, bringing with me 1.3 million points.

I'll try talking some of the Orcas over as well. Second is in reach.

It is truly an exceptionally glorious day for the Kzinti Empire.    A special welcome to our newest member and Hero (Senator), Gallagher! He is one of the elite players of the game, and the Kzinti will benefit greatly from his skills. We are now within striking distrance of the High Command Hegemony.

Also, a hearty welcome to our new members, urface, Tykko, Barka, and Darkmonkey! May you have many victories and become great Kzinti Heroes!

Another good day for the empire today, as we gained about 80k.   A couple people joined up, and more players submitted games. Personally, I've got one game completed and another in the works.

We have two new members today, Di55ec7i0n, and Colonel Mustard! Welcome to the Kzinti Empire!

I dont remember who it was that suggested reading John Ringo to me, but I'm about 1/3 of the way through A Hymnn Before Battle. I'm not finding it to be that interesting. There's almost no depth to the setting or the characters. For example, in 2001 the humans find out that there are star-faring civilizations involved in a great war with each other, and the war is headed towards Earth. There is about 6 billion humans, versus hundreds of trillions of aliens, whose technological capability is many times greater. Yet, the reaction of the humans, except for happily gearing up to go to war, is virtually nil. I think a situation like that would initially cause a lot of chaos on Earth, with rioting, looting, suicides, people going nuts, governments falling, etc. At the very least, people should be feeling a little down... But in the book there's nothing. I find that quite mystifying. I'll finish the book, but I probably wont continue with the series.

Next I'll try Verner Vinge as someone also suggested.

Motti, how is your game with Miaowara Tomokato coming? My gf thinks your character name is especially clever.
